The prestigious international publication Taste Atlas recently published a list of the best places for dessert tasting around the world, highlighting Argentine establishments as particularly significant. In the top ten list, Rapanui from Bariloche and the historic Café Tortoni from Buenos Aires were included.
Rapanui, known for its classic chocolates, occupied the sixth spot, while Café Tortoni, a popular establishment on Avenida de Mayo, positioned itself thanks to the quality of its churros. "The chocolate from Rapanui is made from first-class cacao, offering a rich and indulgent flavor that is a true delight for chocolate lovers," the Taste Atlas review states.
The first place in the list went to Pastéis de Belém, a pastry shop from Portugal founded in 1837. Their unique desserts with custard in a crispy layered shell spiced with cinnamon and a hint of sugar have thrilled journalists in droves.
From the global list, Haiz Mustafa from Istanbul, Café Central from Vienna, Pastelería Ideal from Mexico, Café Du Monde from New Orleans, Karaköy Güllüoğlu also from Istanbul, as well as Confeitaria Colombo from Rio de Janeiro and Chocolatería San Ginés from Madrid also featured.
